Amy & her team did such a spectacular job on our wedding day in DC! The flowers were exactly as we had envisioned - modern, yet classic, with a little bit of whimsy. Amy was even able to source some really lovely LED candles (that looked so real!!) for our venue which did not allow open flames. All of our guests, and even our vendors mentioned how stunning all of the florals were - we could not have been happier.

Amy was a joy to work with leading up to the wedding day and was super helpful during our site walkthrough. So knowledgeable, so patient, and such great/fun energy!

Finding the right florist for your wedding day can be stressful, but I'd highly recommend The Garden House - they've got it under control!

It's Sunday afternoon. Almost chose another business coaching call, or some more SEO work on the website. Chose to be nap trapped by my 10 month old baby girl instead.

Zero regrets, because babies don't keep.

Some find "you'll miss this one day" to be unhelpful, when spoken wistfully by mothers who know. I understand, but I find it timely.

Perspective is given. I'll have the time to keep building, and it matters. But for now, I will soak up every shred of baby-hood, as the exhausting, mesmerizing gift it is.

And when I miss this one day, I'll have to find someone else's baby to sleep on my chest so I can breathe it in again.

I almost posted this as a story but it's too important.

Every rare once in a while, I'm asked to take care of a casket spray. The level of honor isn't lost on me. I love the way flowers amplify, elevate, and communicate through life's MOST important moments.

Weddings are incredible, but funerals are no less monumental in the life of a soul.

Creating florals for both requires a reverence, but even more so for a celebration of a life in this way.

Before I became a floral designer, I was a mental health professional--and grief was a central focus of my work. How beautiful it is to use flowers to help someone, in some small way, move through grief and honor a loved one with...flowers.

They communicate so much.

Sarah & Josh didn't know exactly what the final product would be, but they said "we want that tree filled with flowers, and we trust you."

Today's rain brings back this day!

We were resigned to setting everything up inside, based on the forecast and the ceremony timeframe.

About 30 minutes before the ceremony, Rachel came to us and said "I really want to do this outside" the rain had broken, for the moment and we took the chance. A quick team pivot and an overwhelming YES, and we made it happen!

SO glad we did. The rain was managed, the photos were magical, and Rachel got her outdoor ceremony 🤍. We LOVE saying yes.

Why do we love a good ground arch for your ceremony?

It's a fresh take on the traditional vertical arch, but looks even more full and lush, with much less effort.

When done right, it literally looks like you're in a meadow surrounded by flowers, and there are many configurations to achieve the look you want )we aren't limited to the half moon shape!)

They are an incredible bang for your buck! Here, these pieces adorned the sweetheart table and bar, and can also be placed in front of your DJ, frame in your dance floor, or be placed anywhere to elevate your reception space, saving you dollars on the proposal.
